RIVER OF REFUGE SET TO OPEN IN APRIL SERVING HOMELESS KC FAMILIES, FINAL FUNDING STILL NEEDED TO OPEN ALL APARTMENTS

Five of the 11 available apartments will be open this month but additional funding is needed for parking lot repairs, interior renovation costs and staffing.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lighting the parking lot, hiring a case manager and funding furniture, beds and appliances costing $62,000 are the remaining expenses needed for this first-of-its kind transitional living facility serving working poor families, most of whom have been living in expensive, rundown, pay-by- the-week motels throughout Kansas City.

Prevent KC Homeless Families

We can hardly contain our excitement.

It’s a matter of weeks until our first families arrive at River of Refuge in the Transitional Living Program.

Some of the first 11 apartments are getting furniture, appliances and decor for the kitchenettes, living spaces and bedrooms.
